Hima is one of my heroes —   If you’re experiencing “tourniquet pain syndrome” or other range of motion problems post surgery, please go see her! Four days after a routine orthopedic surgery for meniscus tear in knee, and what had been a rapid post-surgical recovery, my right leg “blew up”—a plethora of symptoms from a condition called “tourniquet pain syndrome” kept me mostly on my back and in agonizing pain for over a month.  Multiple ER visits and Orthopedic specialist visits followed.  I suffered excruciating pain, nerve damage, vein damage (no life-threatening clotting), and muscle/fascia and other symptoms.  I dealt with little sleep, extreme pain, discoloration and swelling that moved all around from my calf to hip.  A couple of times the muscles involuntarily contracted/spasmed contorting me into positions I can only imagine being caused by a medieval torture device. Despite the challenges, the ortho insisted that I start normal PT or risk losing all range of motion.  A day or 2 following my 1st PT session, I ran into a friend who’d also experienced tourniquet pain syndrome and found relief through Hima. In my first 10 minutes Hima increased range of motion over 30 degrees and, in that first week, we started seeing improvement in the swelling trouble spots.  I am now 8 months in and still seeing Hima weekly.  However, here is what we’ve accomplished: no more nights waking in excruciating pain, no more pain-related ER visits, I completed/graduated from normal PT, I was able to take a pre-planned golf trip to Scotland, walking 15 courses in 10 days—all but one with a golf bag/clubs on my back, I hiked cliffs and mountains and went stride-by-stride with my very-fit wife in Ireland (some days walking up to 10 miles), and a recently won a club golf tourney requiring 2 days of play at 36 holes per day in 105*+ heat index conditions.  I couldn’t have done this without Hima and don’t want others to suffer needless health limitations due to reluctance to try her very specialized and effective techniques for recovery!

Hima is amazing. She’s providing occupational therapy for my lymphedema from Breast Cancer mastectomy and lymph node removal. I recently began having swelling and pain in my hand after managing lymphedema in my arm for 17 years. She’s been able to help me with reducing swelling and pain in my arm, hand and provides a bright outlook for my future. She’s providing assistance on working through the stressors in this journey and providing years of wisdom and experience. I’m very thankful for her. I had a Total Knee Replacement that after months of physical therapy with two different facilities, with several physical therapists and diligent home therapy was continuing to give me so much pain. Desperate and on a recommendation from a friend, I decided to give Hima a try. Long story short, Hima has been a blessing! Not only has she helped with my knee pain and edema in that area, but recently has completely rid me of Trigeminal Neuralgia! I simply mentioned my facial pain, and she immediately diagnosed and treated that as well. Super Therapist! I am so grateful for her knowledge and expertise! She had worked on numerous problems I have been having… balance issues caused by accoustic  neuroma surgery, sinus problems, numerous foot, ankle and toe problems, and pelvic floor problems. I am seeing Hima for prenatal work. She is helping me feel more connected with baby, relax and excited for birth! My pain is much more tolerable and the breathing techniques have been extremely helpful during contractions and early labor.
